Whidbey Animals’ Improvement Foundation will hold Wag ‘n’ Walk on Sunday, August 26, 2012, 11am to 3pm, at the beautiful Greenbank Farm. Come and have a blast at this “Dogs In Space” themed event! Bring your dogs dressed as astronauts, aliens, or any other-worldly costumes. Prize for the winner! The popular King and Queen of WAIF alumni will be chosen by attendees and then crowned in a royal ceremony. Meet WAIF adoptable dogs and find your STAR!
Wag ‘n’ Walk is WAIF’s celebration of the rescue efforts of WAIF supporters, and an opportunity to reemphasize the importance of adopting homeless dogs and cats.
Bring your dogs and your dog-loving friends to enjoy this special event featuring dog games: Moon Walk, Bobbing for Hot Dogs, and Water Relay, plus dog contests: Best “Space” Costume, Ice Cream Eating contest, Waggingest Tail, and a dog and person look alike contest. Prizes for all the winners.
There will be demonstrations including the Washington State Patrol K9 Search Team, Dog Tricks by the Amazing Wellington, and Treibball Herding. Many non-profit and pet rescue groups will be represented, along with many local vendors selling tempting things to buy and eat. The Greenbank Farm Sunday Farmers Market will join the celebration, adding to the fun and activity. Enjoy an adventure for two or four legged friends in the spacious and lush walking trails at Greenbank Farm.
Wag ‘n’ Walk is adding something new this year to the festivities with a silent auction! Bid on items that you simply won’t be able to pass up for yourself or for your canines! All proceeds will go to help shelter animals of WAIF.
